Kim Tanaka
BS, CPT
Athletics has always been a big part of Kim’s life, ever since she started playing organized sports at age four, as the youngest member of her tee ball team. She participated in virtually every sport during her youth and remained a competitive athlete through her high school years, playing both Varsity and Club Volleyball. Influenced by both of her parents and her older brother, she also began running and weight training as a young teenager. However, following a near-fatal and physically debilitating accident in 2005, Kim regained her strength and fitness through functional HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training), and has not looked back! With a renewed appreciation for life, she is driven to help clients of all ages reach the functional fitness levels needed to live their own lives to the fullest. After years of studying fitness and nutrition for her own benefit, Kim decided to turn this lifelong passion into her career.
Outside of the gym, Kim loves spending time outdoors, particularly on scenic hikes. She also loves to cook, and especially enjoys trying new recipes while adding her own healthy twist.
Kim is a Georgia native and a graduate of the University of Georgia. She also holds Personal Trainer certifications from the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).
